What are the Parking Security Requirements (PSR)?

Parking Security Requirements (PSR) have been developed in order to prevent product theft and other crimes occurring to trucks carrying various products, due to unsecured parking areas. The aim of PSRs is to establish minimum acceptable security standards and the ways that they can be upheld.

Why an PSR standard for Secure Truck Parking Areas?

Up to 75% of all cargo crimes recorded by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) involve attacks on trucks while parked at unsecured parking locations.

The main reasons are:

  • Increase in theft incidents involving parked trucks,
  • Need for secure parking locations,
  • Lack of a single platform that enables effective route planning, taking into account known incidents and secure parking
