Applus+ Certification obtains ENAC accreditation for the Verification of Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs)

26/07/2024

Applus+ Certification becomes one of the first entities to obtain this accreditation for standardised actions.

On July 18, 2024, the ENAC Accreditation Commission granted Applus+ Certification (LGAI) the accreditation as ESCs Verifier (Energy Saving Certificates).

These certificates are a digital record confirming that, by performing an action to improve energy efficiency, a new energy saving equivalent to 1 kWh is achieved. This energy efficiency action by companies must be verified by a third-party entity.

The objective of the Energy Saving Certificates System is to promote energy saving in Spain, complying with the commitments established with the European Union under the Energy Efficiency Directive. In addition, obtaining a favourable opinion will allow obligated parties to comply with the National System of Energy Efficiency Obligations.

The Energy Saving Certificates System offers the opportunity for consumers to benefit economically from the energy saving and efficiency measures implemented, not only by reducing the costs of their energy bill, but also by monetising the energy savings achieved.

WHY VERIFY ESCs WITH APPLUS+ CERTIFICATION?

Obtaining this accreditation only reinforces Applus+ Certification's commitment as an independent and prestigious entity that is committed to offering its clients a wide range of certification and verification services for sustainable projects. An example of this commitment is that Applus+ Certification is already in the process of accreditation for singular actions, which will allow it to broaden its scope.
