Applus+ in Colombia has joined ASOCARBONO

On 14 July 2022, Applus+ in Colombia* received the new affiliation to ASOCARBONO.  This is an association that brings together the most important actors for the development of the carbon market in Colombia. The objective is to respond to the global climate emergency and strengthen initiatives that arise in the country for the mitigation and offsetting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.   

This new membership is an important step for Applus+ Certification as it will allow us to strengthen our presence in Latin America. Being part of ASOCARBONO means being able to participate in discussion and decision-making spaces, interact with market players and generate commercial and technical exchange. In addition, we will be able to receive information on the carbon market, status, perspectives, transaction levels and participate in the processes of capacity building and knowledge construction that the association promotes and develops.   

The Applus+ Certification team brings to the association international experience as a Validation and Verification Body (VVO). In other words, we bring experience in auditing, validation and verification services in the field of emission reductions and carbon credits, either under the United Nations scheme (UNFCCC) or under other European or private schemes.
