Applus+, authorised to certify the Wineries for Climate Protection (WfCP) scheme

    WfCP certification was developed by the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) with a view to improving the environmental sustainability of vineyards.

    The FEV has accredited Applus+ as a Wineries for Climate Protection (WfCP) certification body. This scheme sets out the criteria that a vineyard must meet in order to be considered environmentally sustainable.
    WfCP certification focuses on the continuous improvement and sustainability of a vineyard on the basis of four key pillars:
    • Reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
    • Water management
    • Waste reduction
    • Energy efficiency and renewable energy
    This standard enables a vineyard to demonstrate its hard work and commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development and serves as a differentiating factor for customers, suppliers and consumers.
